Am I a Good Candidate for Eyelid Surgery?

What Can I Expect After Eyelid Surgery?
After the operation, your eyelids will be treated with a light ointment and then bandaged. Medication will alleviate any discomfort you may feel, including tightness and soreness of the eyes. Applying a cold compress will minimize swelling and bruising, which should fade in one to two weeks. Your head should be kept elevated for several days following eyelid surgery. Within a week after your blepharoplasty, you will return to our Los Gatos facility to have the sutures removed.
Though care must be taken to protect the eyes from contact or irritants, most patients find they can return to work in seven to 10 days. To maximize the success of your eyelid surgery and to minimize the risk of complication, Dr. Sutkin will give you specific instructions for surgical preparation and postoperative care.
