With a special surgical tool, Dr. Sutkin creates a pocket between the fascia (fibrous muscle covering) and the underlying muscle. This pocket is made just large enough for the implant to fit in securely. Once the procedure is repeated on the other leg, Dr. Sutkin will carefully examine both sides to make sure the implants look symmetrical and natural. The incisions are then sutured closed.

What Can I Expect After Calf Augmentation?

The altered appearance of your calves will be immediately apparent, though it will be some months before the final results can be seen. Directly after your calf augmentation in Los Gatos, your legs will be elevated and covered from the knees and over the calves with a compression garment. You will be advised to keep moving your toes and feet to ensure good circulation. There will be some swelling, bruising and numbness, but that will eventually subside.
