Am I a Good Candidate for Buttock Implants?

If you are unhappy with the size and shape of your derriere, then buttock augmentation may be a good option for you. Of the people who visit our Los Gatos office for buttock implants, the best candidates are over age 18, physically healthy and don’t smoke.

How are Buttock Implants Inserted?

During your gluteal augmentation at our Los Gatos facility, an incision is usually made under your buttock cheek or down the buttock crease. Dr. Sutkin will create a “pocket” and then insert the butt implants either under or on top of the gluteus maximus muscle. Sometimes, liposuction will be performed, as well. After Dr. Sutkin is satisfied that the buttocks look symmetrical and natural, he will suture the incisions.

What Can I Expect After My Buttock Implant Surgery?

Once your gluteal augmentation is completed, a compression bandage is placed around the buttocks to help reduce discomfort and swelling. You may be prescribed an antibiotic, pain medication and an anti-inflammatory medication. During your recovery time, you must rest as much as possible and drink plenty of fluids. Typically, our buttock implant patients in Los Gatos see immediate results from the surgery. But the full effects may take several months as the muscles stretch to create a more natural and softer appearance.
