Am I a Good Candidate for a Brow Lift?
Most of our forehead lifts in Los Gatos are performed on men and women between the ages of 40 and 60, when the natural aging process begins to create visible lines on the face. How is a Brow Lift Performed?
Typically, there are two types of forehead lifts: open and endoscopic. An open, or classic, brow lift requires a large, coronal incision that reaches from ear to ear, typically behind the hairline. In endoscopic surgery the surgeon removes tissue through a pencil-sized tube with the help of a tiny camera.
Whether it’s an open or endoscopic forehead lift, once the incision is made, Dr. Sutkin gently removes excess muscle, fat and skin, repositioning the remaining tissues for a smoother appearance. Some of the muscles that create frown lines may be loosened, and the eyebrows may be repositioned at a higher level on the forehead. Finally, the incision is closed with stitches.
What Can I Expect After a Brow Lift?
Some common side-effects for our Los Gatos brow lift patients are swelling; bruising; numbness, especially near the incision sites; and sun sensitivity in the treated area. These symptoms normally subside within a few weeks, but some side effects may persist for up to three months. You can wear camouflage makeup to cover any bruising or swelling.
